Chloe has an Esthetics license, has laser training, and is a CPR Instructor through the AHA. She grew up in Norwalk, attended high school at Norwalk Community School District and Esthetics school at Aveda Institute Des Moines.
She decided to work in optometry for the ability to expand her knowledge of health care and continue her career in medical aesthetics. She previously worked in medical aesthetics and as a Esthetics Laser Technician.
Chloe is an only child with 3 dogs (we are very close!) and enjoys doing puzzles and traveling.
Jodi if our patient care specialist who carries a marketing degree with business management. After being a business owner herself with 20 years of retail management experience, Jodi decided to change her career path in another industry. Jodi enjoys riding her bike, reading, movies, and spending time with family and friends. She is a native Iowan from Perry, and now resides with her family in Johnston.
Karen was enrolled at Mercy College of Health Sciences working on a degree in Emergency Medicine but found her way into Optometry with the goal of becoming a certified Optometric Technician with knowledge in Ocular Surface Disease and Medically Necessary Contact Lenses.
She has worked in this field for 9 months and has thoroughly enjoyed it. She is looking forward to continuing her education in this field.
She previously worked extensively in customer service as well as being an Assistant Underwriter. She was a stay at home mom for 11 years and was able to become a freelance technical and content writer as well as a freelance Medical Transcriptionist.
Karen grew up in Des Moines, Iowa and was a graduate of Roosevelt High School. She enjoys crocheting, music and playing guitar. She is a proud mom of three beautiful daughters. We have 3 cats and one new puppy that keeps us all very busy.
Mindy was trained as an optician in 2004 and certified, left for several years, and then returned to working in optometry since 2017. She's currently working on getting recertified as an optician. She went to high school in Des Moines and Johnston. She decided to work optometry because she hated her first pair of glasses. Today, she wants every patient to love how they look while giving them the best vision possible.Mindy is also a professional photographer.She was born and raised in Des Moines. She has been in Dallas County for the last 15 years, and although it's a longer drive, the scenery is worth the gas!
Mindy is a single mom with 2 kids, only 1 at home now, and her father lives with her, 2 extremely spoiled dogs and a brand new kitten. She loves watching her boys do what they love! Her oldest loves animals and has been involved with a shelter in the past. He's now in college looking at a degree in Social Sciences. Her youngest is a sports fanatic. He plays football, wrestles for his high school, and plays basketball with a group of friends on the weekends. Free time is scarce in her life but when she has time to herself, she enjoys drinking coffee with her dog on cooler days.
Ruth is a retired veteran teacher with teaching experience in Home Ec and art at Pella Christion and Newton. She has work experience in the business, real estate, retail and insurance fields as well. She received her BS from Central College and her MST from Drake University. While teaching she was awarded a teaching internship with the Maytag Corp and an Exchange trip to Taiwan to visit sister schools and former exchange students. She tutored many students as well and now substitute teaches.
She and her husband both grew up on farms outside of Prairie City and were high school sweethearts. They have two married children and five grandchildren whose activities keep them busy (not to mention two cats and a kitten at home.) She enjoys camping, decorating, reading and gardening and preserves many quarts of produce each year. She also enjoys Bible studies and sewing, especially with vintage patterns and fabrics.
Ruth has worked at various positions in her daughter’s optometry practice since it opened in Clive. She currently works in the office at least one day a week and works remotely as well.
